    Principal’s Message:

Over the last week or so, we have been really gearing up for our school’s 40th anniversary. The staff room has been full of old pictures and memorabilia, and it has been great fun taking a look at the history of CCS. Seeing familiar and unfamiliar faces through those photos has been a real trip down memory lane.

This weekend, as we celebrate together with a volleyball tournament (in our updated gym), live auction (in our re-done auditorium), and then celebration service on Sunday, I pray that you are able to attend and see God’s abundant faithfulness. I hope you come out and see old friends, and new faces, and of course, spend time together at our table.

    Looking forward to it CCS!

    Executive Meeting Update

The eighth Society Executive meeting for the school year was held on Monday evening, April 17. Here are some notes from our meeting:

    • CCS 40th Anniversary Homecoming Weekend – April 22/23: Our big bash is finally here! It promises to be a weekend of fun and reflection on how God has blessed us with His school over the last 40 years. There are many different events you can take part in all weekend long – we hope to see you at all of them!
    • AGM May 24 (save the date): We will have our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, May 24 at 7:00 pm. A light snack and refreshments will be provided. Also note that the grade 9 students will provide babysitting, free of charge. This meeting is a chance to hear about the past year from both the Society Executive and principal’s perspective and review and approve financial information, including last year’s financial statements and the condensed budget for the upcoming year. In accordance with our bylaws, all people who have been Society members in good standing since April 24 are entitled to vote at the AGM. Non-society members (e.g., spouses) are also welcome to attend. Society members who cannot attend may instead submit absentee ballots. Further information will be available in future issues of the Chronicle.
    • Executive positions: We will have two vacancies on the Executive next year. We will be nominating Rachelle McIvor to fill one of those vacancies. Please contact Executive Co-Chairs Karen Hofstra or Niki Underschultz, or Society Administrator Lisa Gatzke by Wednesday, May 17, 2023, if you have any objections to the nomination of Rachelle McIvor. If no legitimate objections are received, she will be acclaimed as a new member of the Executive for next year.

    Odds & Ends:

    Sign In/Out Form:

In an effort to reduce the amount of shared touched surfaces, we will be using a QR code that you will need to scan with your phone for signing in and out of the school. You can also use this link if you are in your vehicle and need to sign out a student but can’t scan the code. This means that students/parents/visitors can scan the QR code when entering or leaving the office/school to sign in or sign out on their own phone/device.

Parents will also be able to sign their kids out from their vehicle in the parking lot when they arrive to pick them up for appts. etc. please use the link above if you can’t scan the QR code. We do ask that parents pull into a spot (not bus lane) where they can contact the office to let them know you have arrived and we can make eye contact with you
from the staff/office door. Students must also stop by the office before leaving the school. At that point, once a connection is made, we are able to send students out to you.
