    Principal’s Message

While many of my “Principal Messages” are about themes of the school or suggestions for parents, this week I want to bring you specific news about next year.

Unfortunately for CCS, our Assistant Principal. Mrs. Chapman, will be moving on to a different school within BGSD, to share her expertise as an AP. While this is exciting for her, I, like many, am a little sad.

Losing an Assistant Principal is undoubtedly a bittersweet experience. On one hand, there’s a palpable sense of sadness in seeing a valued member of the team depart. Their contributions, camaraderie, and expertise leave a void that can’t be immediately filled. Yet, on the other hand, there’s a profound sense of pride and excitement in knowing that they are embarking on a new chapter of their career journey.

Mrs. Chapman has been such a blessing for me and our school community. With that said, it’s natural to feel a tinge of sadness at her departure, but it’s important to channel that emotion into celebration and support. I’m genuinely excited for her as she embraces this new challenge. It’s an opportunity for her to broaden her horizons, expand her skill set, and make a positive impact in a different educational community.

So, while saying goodbye is never easy, I am choosing to focus on the bright future that lies ahead for her and the continued growth of our school community. As Mrs. Chapman ventures forth on her leadership journey, she carries with her the ability to be salt and light in a different way! Please help me show her our best wishes, prayers, and unwavering support! You will continue to cultivate a peculiar people, Mrs. Chapman, just now in a different way.

CCS Track Meet – MANY Volunteers Needed

Our annual CCS Track Meet will be held on Tuesday, May 21, and is for all grade 1-9 students. This event requires close to 30 volunteers in order for it to be a success. If you can free up your schedule on May 21, please sign up for one of the positions at

    Thank you in advance!

During our school track meet, Mr. Simmons will be running a concession that will have a variety of items to purchase. These include lunch items, snack items, and a wide variety of drinks! All items will be anywhere from $1.00 – $4.00 depending on what it is. We will also try to put together a few lunch combos for price savings as well! Any money made will go towards purchasing a second 9-square game.

If you would like to donate some baked goods to be sold at our concession, we would happily accept them! Please complete the Google form HERE with your name and what you are able to bring. Details regarding drop off etc will follow.

Mini Mall is Coming! – May 23

We hope you will join us for Covenant Christian School’s Grade 9 Mini-Mall! Our Mini-Mall has been an annual school-wide community event. It combines the Grade 9s learning in Social Studies on Economics with a fund-raising opportunity for their graduation by creating a mini-business to sell products to other students.

This year we are operating Mini-Mall in person. You can also preview items on the Mini-Mall Market Webpage HERE . Along with your child, you can look through the catalogue and engage in meaningful conversation about financial literacy, budgeting, stewardship, and consumerism.

The students’ products will be available on Thursday, May 23 from 11:00 to 12:30 pm. Homeroom teachers will be escorting children through the mini-mall at that time. Parents are also welcome to join us at the school for this event. Tickets will be purchased through your child’s Powerschool Account. Tickets are available in books of 10 tickets for $5. Most items cost between 2-10 tickets ($1.00-$5.00). No cash will be accepted or tickets refunded. All ticket purchases must be made through PowerSchool by 9:00 am on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. No Exceptions!

    Grandparents Day – May 31, 2024

We are once again excited to host Grandparent/Special Friends Day in-person on Friday, May 31st!

Please do not arrive earlier than 9:40 am. To start off our celebration, we will have an assembly at 10:00 am sharp, after which, our grandparents and special friends will be invited to tour the school and visit classrooms. In addition, our library will again host our “Adopt-A-Book” and “Book Fair” fundraisers. You will be able to purchase books once the assembly has finished.

Please stay in the auditorium for the entire assembly. We look forward to seeing all of our special guests on Friday, May 31!

If your grandparent or special friend is unable to join us on May 31st, they are invited them to send a message to their student and we will print them out and deliver them to their classroom on that day! Please forward the following form link to anyone who would like to send a message:

Celebration will be held on Thursdays for the month of May.

    Lost & Found

Just like Spring, our lost and found is GROWING! It has extended to another table! Please take a minute to look and see if any of the items belong to your household and either get your kids to stop by and pick up your items or email the office and we will try to send them home with them.

We will post weekly pictures of our lost and found. If you see something that is your child’s, please have them stop by the table and pick it up or let the office know.

All unclaimed items will be donated to a second-hand store by the end of the month.
