    Principal’s Message:

This week is literacy week in our Grade 1 and 2 classes. The below quote is a good reminder for us all.

    Announcements:

    Front Door Buzzer

Our new doorbell system seems to be working quite well! We have now added a button in the office to allow us to unlock the door without having to come directly to the door each time. When you ring the door bell please listen for a “click” sound, which is the door lock being released, then you can enter the building.

    Hot Lunch – POSTPONED

On Friday last week, you would have received a document from BGSD outlining some changes in the back to school plan. One minor detail that changed was the wording on food incoming to schools. For CCS, this means the way in which we run our Hot Lunch program. That said, we will need to temporarily pause our hot lunch program after tomorrow’s scheduled lunch. All November orders will be put back on your account as a credit.

We are incredibly sorry for the inconvenience. We understand that our hot lunch fundraiser is a favourite and we are excited to bring it back when we are able. A huge shout out to our Hot Lunch volunteer team for all of your hard work and flexibility as we navigate this year.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Parent-Teacher Conferences

We will be holding our Parent-Teacher Conferences the week of November 15-19, virtually.

We will be using School Appointments again this year to book our conferences. You are able to book one appointment time with your child(ren)’s home room teacher. We ask that all parents attend these conferences. The system will be open for booking appointments beginning at 4:00 pm TODAY. Details on how to book your appointment are below:

    1. Go to www.covenant.schoolappointments.com
    2. You will need to create a new account, as the system does nto remember accounts from the previous year. Register for an account by clicking the “Click Here to Register” link on the right hand side of the screen under the Login section. Chooose a User ID and Password for yourself and click the “Register Now” button.
    3. Add your children to the system by clicking the “Add a Student” button and click “Insert
    4. Click the “date” (calendar) icon beside each child’s name to schedule appointments. Select the staff member/home room teacher you wish to book the appointment with and the “View Calendars” button. Use the “Ctrl” or “Command” key to select multiple staff to view at the same time. While you can view multiple calendars, you can only book one appointment per student.
    5. Click on available time slots to book your appointment and then click on the “Book Appointments” button to save your bookings. To book additional appointments for your other children, go to the Profile tab and select Manage Students from the drop down and select the next child.
    6. If you wish to print your appointments, go to Profile, View Appointments and then click Print Appointments.

Once you have booked your appointments, the teacher will set up a GoogleMeet for the meeting. You will receive a reminder email with thte meeting link before your scheduled appointment time.

    Monday Morning Prayer

We are fortunate at CCS for so many reasons! One of these reasons is that we have several ladies who gather on Monday mornings in our parking lot to pray over our school community! If you have a prayer request, you can email it to [email protected] and they would be happy to spend some time praying over it. In order to protect privacy, please do not include names (unless it is you or direct family).

    Lost & Found

In order to continue to limit the number of visitors in the school this year, we will continue to post a photo of our Lost & Found each week in the Chronicle. If you see an item that is your child’s, please have them pick it up the next day or email the office and we will make sure it gets home with them. We will only be holding items until the next Chronicle.

    Odds & Ends:

    Sign In/Out Form:

In an effort to reduce the amount of shared touched surfaces, we will be using a QR code that you will need to scan with your phone for signing in and out of the school. You can also use this link if you are in your vehicle and need to sign out a student but can’t scan the code. This means that students/parents/visitors can scan the QR code when entering or leaving the office/school to sign in or sign out on their own phone/device.

Parents will also be able to sign their kids out from their vehicle in the parking lot when they arrive to pick them up for appts. etc. please use the link above if you can’t scan the QR code. We do ask that parents pull into a spot (not bus lane) where you can contact the office to let them know you have arrived and we can make eye contact with you
from the staff/office door. Students must also stop by the office before leaving the school. At that point, once connection is made, we are able to send students out to you.
