Principal’s Message
Can you believe that we are already nearing the end of May? With only 25 school days left in the year, our students and staff are focusing on finishing the year strong, and I have turned one eye squarely to next year!
One thing that has already caused many hours of conversation is class placements for next year. This includes staff placement, grade configuration, and student placement. These decisions are not something that is haphazardly done, and many factors are taken into consideration. Be it which classes will have a combined grade, which teacher teaches where, and yes, where your child is placed in a class is not done without reason. Prayer, dynamics, and a variety of other factors all come into play making these decisions, and these are not done in a silo either. While the administration has the final say, many voices are consulted.
With that said, if you have a serious concern that you would like taken into account, I will accept these by phone 780-986-8353 or email at [email protected] by FRIDAY, JUNE 7th at 3:30 pm. While these concerns will be considered, all of the factors will be weighed carefully and prayerfully, and final decisions will be made with the best of intentions for each classroom dynamic.
I know that the summer can be full of anticipation for next year, and rest assured these conversations are already happening! I am excited about the team we are assembling and confident that God’s fingerprints are all over these decisions. As always, class lists will come out just prior to the staff leaving for summer break.
Announcements
Mini Mall is TOMORROW!
We hope you will join us for Covenant Christian School’s Grade 9 Mini-Mall! Our Mini-Mall has been an annual school-wide community event. It combines the Grade 9s learning in Social Studies on Economics with a fund-raising opportunity for their graduation by creating a mini-business to sell products to other students.
This year we are operating Mini-Mall in person. You can also preview items on the Mini-Mall Market Webpage HERE . Along with your child, you can look through the catalogue and engage in meaningful conversation about financial literacy, budgeting, stewardship, and consumerism.
The students’ products will be available on Thursday, May 23 from 11:00 to 12:30 pm. Homeroom teachers will be escorting children through the mini-mall at that time. Parents are also welcome to join us at the school for this event. Sorry, tickets are no longer available for purchase.

Please stay in the auditorium for the entire assembly. We look forward to seeing all of our special guests on Friday, May 31!
***If your grandparent or special friend is unable to join us on May 31st, they are invited them to send a message to their student and we will print them out and deliver them to their classroom on that day! Please forward the following form link to anyone who would like to send a message:

Celebration will be held on Thursdays for the month of May.
Lost & Found
Just like Spring, our lost and found is GROWING! It has extended to another table! Please take a minute to look and see if any of the items belong to your household and either get your kids to stop by and pick up your items or email the office and we will try to send them home with them.
We will post weekly pictures of our lost and found. If you see something that is your child’s, please have them stop by the table and pick it up or let the office know.
All unclaimed items will be donated to a second-hand store by the end of the month.
