Principal’s Message:
Early in my adult life, before I was a teacher, a supervisor once told me “for as confident as you are, you need more reassurance than anyone I deal with!”
Since I still remember the exact turn of phrase, it obviously affected me more than they meant it to, and more than I realized at the time, although the question I have wondered is why? I have always dealt with this idea of not being good enough. Not being smart enough, fast enough, attractive enough, or strong enough. I have had thoughts of doubt, and being an imposter. I have struggled with wanting others to think more of me than I have thought of myself. As I get older, I recognize that this is not necessarily unique to me, that many of us (most of us?) deal with these same ulterior storylines competing in our lives.
As I think about sitting at the stable table, I understand that at that point in my life, I was scared to find a seat, felt like I needed to check off a list to get to take a seat with God. This year, we are showing our students and the greater community that there is no list. They are welcome to sit at God’s table because He died for us, and conquered death for us. So that we, as sinners, can be with Him always.
Just like I felt this way, I am sure we all feel this way at points in our lives. When we allow ourselves to sit down, to give that hurt and fear to Him, we achieve who we are created to be.
Please CCS, take a seat. You are welcome here.

Celebration

We will hold Celebration on Wednesdays for the month of September. All parents are welcome to join us each week!
Lunch Needed Notifications
We have noticed a number of students have been coming to the office for extra lunch, or snacks as they do not have enough food packed for the day. In an effort to keep communication open with parents, we will begin sending home a short email to let you know that your student came to the office for extra lunch or a snack that day. As parents, you may not be aware that your student is needing a little extra as they don’t always remember to let parents know by the time they come home at the end of the day. We also know that the cost of everything continues to increase creating financial strain on families. If you receive an email notification and would like to continue using this service please just respond with a simple thank you. Please send an email to [email protected] to let us know that your child could use a little extra and we will gladly give them something to get them through the day!
Hot Lunch
We are excited to once again offer a weekly Hot Lunch Day! This year, Hot Lunches will be on Wednesdays.
We would like to make you aware of some changes:
1. The KFC meals will no longer come with a juice box, please order your child a drink in addition to the meal if they would like one.
2. Two new restaurants have been added to our program this year; Mucho Burrito and Panda Hut Express.
3. We are bringing back Hot Dog day in a different way; on our Booster Juice weeks we will be offering just smoothies and booster bakes from the restaurant and also hotdogs, (no pop or chips) our regular drinks, and fruit cups to go with them.
4. If you are interested in volunteering for our Hot Lunch program (commitment level can be very flexible) please contact our office Hot Lunch Coordinator, Gloria Horvath at [email protected]!
You can find the forms for Hot Lunch in your student’s PowerSchool account. Orders will close on the Tuesday prior to the following week’s hot lunch at 11:59 pm. All orders must be placed online, and payment must be made with form submission to be processed. (No cash or cheques are accepted). Please check your email for a confirmation receipt to ensure that your order went through.
Please remember to submit your orders and pay for them on time so your child doesn’t miss out on getting their hot lunch!
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Hot Lunch, you can reach our Hot Lunch coordinator, Mrs. Horvath, via email at: [email protected]

Sign In/Out Form:
In an effort to reduce the amount of shared touched surfaces, we will be using a QR code that you will need to scan with your phone for signing in and out of the school. You can also use this link if you are in your vehicle and need to sign out a student but can’t scan the code. This means that students/parents/visitors can scan the QR code when entering or leaving the office/school to sign in or sign out on their own phone/device.
Parents will also be able to sign their kids out from their vehicle in the parking lot when they arrive to pick them up for appts. etc. please use the link above if you can’t scan the QR code. We do ask that parents pull into a spot (not bus lane) where you can contact the office to let them know you have arrived and we can make eye contact with you
from the staff/office door. Students must also stop by the office before leaving the school. At that point, once a connection is made, we are able to send students out to you.
