    Principal’s Message:

As you all know, we have no school this Friday and Monday. While this could be a time where we can think to ourselves, “Yet more time off of school for the kids,” I hope we truly take time to think about the reasoning behind these “days off.” Good Friday and Easter Monday are important times for our community to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and the hope that His resurrection brings.

Easter is that reminder for us all, that through faith in Christ, and not in our own power, we have forgiveness for our sins and eternal life with Him. It is time to celebrate the victory over death and the promise of new beginnings.

While students will learn more about this in class, I urge you all to give them the opportunity to talk about and experience the variation in Church services between His death and resurrection. Take the time to talk about it over dinner, or in the car as you go where you are driving. As you help them with their personal relationship with Jesus, it is so important that they have the chance to work out their feelings at this time.

As our sign says, this long weekend isn’t about the bunny, it is about the lamb.

    Hello All CCS Families,

As some of you may have heard, we are excited to celebrate our school’s 40th Anniversary this year! The celebration will take place April 22/23, 2023 with something for everyone to enjoy. As is the case with most school functions, we rely on the help of volunteers to make these events a success. If you are able to lend a hand, please click here to see all of the available opportunities. Also, if there is anyone with food handling experience that would like to help in the kitchen, please contact me directly at [email protected].

    Hot Lunch Fundraiser Update

Hot Lunch is always a nice treat at school for our kids and our staff. While it is great to not have to pack a lunch and get something warm and delicious to eat, did you know that we also use Hot Lunch as a fundraiser?!

Due to purchasing hot lunches, CCS has been able to equip our school with things like a new Chromebook cart (20 new Chromebooks), a new touchscreen-enabled view board in the Gr. 3/4 classroom (as a pilot), and even the new announcement screens in the office and foyer. Without this fundraiser, it would be difficult to keep up with some of these items that help create an up-to-date learning environment for our students. We want to thank you for your continued support, and also want to extend a huge thank you to those parent and grandparent volunteers who show up and plan our hot lunch fundraiser! Without their presence, we simply would be unable to keep our hot lunch program running.

    Odds & Ends:

    Sign In/Out Form:

In an effort to reduce the amount of shared touched surfaces, we will be using a QR code that you will need to scan with your phone for signing in and out of the school. You can also use this link if you are in your vehicle and need to sign out a student but can’t scan the code. This means that students/parents/visitors can scan the QR code when entering or leaving the office/school to sign in or sign out on their own phone/device.

Parents will also be able to sign their kids out from their vehicle in the parking lot when they arrive to pick them up for appts. etc. please use the link above if you can’t scan the QR code. We do ask that parents pull into a spot (not bus lane) where they can contact the office to let them know you have arrived and we can make eye contact with you
from the staff/office door. Students must also stop by the office before leaving the school. At that point, once a connection is made, we are able to send students out to you.
