Principal’s Message
As I stood out in the parking lot on Monday, waving cars and students along in my toy soldier best, I saw many chuckles and thumbs up (and maybe a few eyes roll), regarding my Christmas attire. I know that it is a tad ridiculous, and I know that it is pretty silly, and I am okay with that. Today is pajama day, so watch out!
As we journey through Advent and get closer to Christmas Day, I get more and more excited. I love Christmas, I love what it is about, and I love how we as a world seemingly come closer to each other as we approach the birth of Jesus. As we walk through the season together, I hope that I can share my excitement with our school community. I feed off of the students’ anticipation and hopefully share my love of Christmas with them as well. We should be excited, the birth of our Saviour is the time to exude relentless love and childish joy! I hope that you can see that in your child and in our staff!
From our CCS family to yours, Merry Christmas everyone. It is our prayer that you have a blessed holiday, and we will see you all back in 2024!

Kindergarten/New Student Registration
Dear parents/guardians and caregivers,
Kindergarten and New Student Registration is quickly approaching! Kindergarten registration opens on January 8, 2024, for the 2024-2025 school year.
Children may begin Kindergarten in a school within the Black Gold School Division in September if they are at least 4 years 8 months old as of August 31 of the respective school year.
We encourage families to register early. Please note that programs and class preferences are subject to change based on enrollment, space, and program viability.
For more information, please visit: www.blackgold.ca/schools/programs/kindergarten
Here are a few things to note regarding registration:
- If you have a student currently in our preschool program who will be going to kindergarten in the fall, you will NEED to complete Kindergarten Registration forms (CCS Enrolment Form, Black Gold Online Registration Form, and Confidential Pastor’s Report). Our preschool is a separate program from our K-9 program and you are considered a new family.
- If you are a current CCS family (you have older children (Grades K-9) already enrolled at CCS THIS year) and you have a student who will be registering for kindergarten in the fall, you will ONLY need to complete the Black Gold online registration form.
- If you currently have students enrolled in Covenant this year in grades kindergarten to nine, they will automatically be enrolled at CCS for the 2023-2024 school year, you do NOT need to register them again.
- All our registration forms (CCS Enrolment Form, Black Gold Online Registration Form, and Confidential Pastor’s Report) as well as the instructions on the process you need to go through are on our website under the Registration heading here.
Preschool Registration
Preschool registration for the 2024-2025 school year opens on January 9, 2024, at 10:00 am for Covenant families with students currently in Grades K-9 ONLY. You can find more information, as well as the registration links/documents on our website here. Links will be made live on January 9, 2024.
Registration opens to the general public on February 8, 2024.
CCS Christmas Food Drive
Thank you so much to everyone who supported our Christmas Food Drive! Our school goal was 400 pounds of donations, and we overwhelmingly surpassed it, totaling 782 pounds! Thank you for blessing our community! We also enjoyed a little added fun by getting to watch a student from each homeroom adorn Mr. Simmons with Silly String at Celebration! Merry Christmas everyone!
Report Freeze & New Report Cards
Our Term 1 report freeze is now over and grades, assignments, and comments are once again available to parents on PowerSchool. We are also able to offer an online report card for the end of each term now as well! You will find your child’s report card under the “Student Reports” option on the left-hand side menu.

- Next, click on the CCS_T1_23-24…..ReportCrd link to access your student’s report card
If you would like to see the assignments and assignment comments for each specific course, you can do that by clicking on the number or letter under the T1 column on the first page when you gain access to PowerSchool.
