    Principal’s Message

Yesterday, I had the distinct honor of hosting a distinguished contingent of administrators from esteemed Christian schools all around Korea, accompanied by Gayle Monsma, the Executive Director of the Prairie Centre for Christian Education. Eager to witness firsthand the embodiment of Teaching for Transformation at Covenant Christian School, the group was captivated by the ethos permeating every corner of our institution.

As we walked through the school, I had the privilege of seeing our classroom environments through a renewed lens. Artifacts and projects on the walls, often overlooked, sprung to life as they were unveiled to our special guests for the first time. It was immensely gratifying to showcase the unwavering dedication and tireless hard work of our staff, filling me with an overwhelming sense of pride for our school.

Throughout our conversations, our Korean counterparts posed a variety of inquiries that reminded me of our journey in Teaching for Transformation. They sought insights into fostering similar opportunities for their students, inquired about the trajectory that led us to our current position, and sought counsel on cultivating the same caliber of educators. While our journey in advancing Christian education has been formidable, it was profoundly invigorating to witness the extent of our achievements and recognize our school’s role as a radiant beacon of light guiding other educational institutions.

Yesterday, I was very proud of our school. I ask that you, like me, embrace that same sentiment as proud parents, for as I was reminded, let me also remind you – that our school occupies a truly remarkable place in the educational landscape.

    Spring Program Prop Request

    Prop/Set Needs:

We are now preparing for Aladdin Jr, which will be performed on March 20-21, 2024 at the MacLab Theatre here in Leduc.

We have started many projects but need some community assistance in preparing for the performance. Please help in the following ways.

    1. Costumes – A few parents are already working on dresses and costumes. We need a few more individuals who would like to design costumes for our cast, including pieces for our feature numbers.
    2. Construction and Painting – We have our Grade 8 parents working on sets, but we could always use more people to create, design, and build!
    3. Props –  If you have any of the following items we could use, we’d be grateful for your help:
    • Metal items that might be sold on “trinkets” style cart
    • Large piece of black fabric
    • Small carpets, preferably colorful, that could be rolled up on the trinkets cart
    • Bright colored fabrics
    • Fake bananas
    • A large pair of gold earrings
    • Water jugs, not plastic-looking
    • Tackle box or tool box so we can organize small props such as jewellery

Please email Mr. Ward at [email protected] if you want to join the team!
