The Leduc Society for Christian Education (“LSCE”) is a charitable organization that supports the operations of

Covenant Christian School (“CCS”). CCS is an alternative program public school within Black Gold School

Division (“BGSD”).

The LSCE was formed in the early 1980’s by a group of parents with a vision for Christian education in the

Leduc area. CCS opened its doors in September, 1983. Initially, CCS operated as a private school, governed

entirely by the LSCE. In 2005, CCS became an alternative program school within BGSD. Together, BGSD and

the LSCE continue to serve and support the students and families of CCS.

The LSCE is a parent-led organization that oversees the Christian components of CCS, retains ownership of the

school buildings and property, and provides funds for capital improvements. To support the operations of

CCS, the LSCE also runs its own transportation system with 2 buses and a private preschool program. Through

its board of directors and several committees, the LSCE supports the ministry of Christian education at CCS in a

variety of ways. This includes funding the purchase of Christian resources for the library and classrooms and

professional development specific to Christian education. The LSCE is also an active member of the Prairie

Center for Christian Education. (Link to PCCE website here).

Membership in the LSCE includes parents of current students as well as current staff and supporters drawn

from the ranks of alumni, alumni parents, and grandparents. Parent LSCE members form the backbone of

various LSCE committees, including the Finance Committee, Transportation Committee, Public Relations

Committee and Preschool Committee.

LSCE employees include the Society Administrator, an administrative assistant, a fundraising coordinator, a

transportation coordinator, two bus drivers, a preschool teacher and EA, a facilities manager and three

custodians.
