Parent Involvement & Volunteer Opportunities
"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others..."
– 1 Peter 4:10
At Covenant Christian School, we believe our school is strongest when families partner together. We are incredibly thankful for the parents, grandparents, and family members who generously share their time and talents. Whether you're helping in the classroom, serving hot lunch, or supporting a special event, your involvement helps build a Christ-centered community where students can flourish.
Before You Volunteer
Annual Volunteer Registration
All volunteers are required to complete an updated Volunteer Registration and Confidentiality Form every school year.
The form is available through PowerSchool and must be reviewed and signed annually, even if you have volunteered with us before.
Volunteer Expectations
Because volunteers work closely with our students and represent Covenant Christian School, we hold high expectations for everyone serving in our community.
All volunteers are expected to review our Volunteer Information Presentation each year before volunteering. This helps ensure everyone understands our expectations for confidentiality, student safety, professionalism, and creating positive learning experiences for our students.

Depending on the volunteer role, a current Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check may also be required.
Ways to Get Involved
There are many opportunities for parents, grandparents, and family members to serve throughout the school year. Whether you have an hour to spare or would like to take on a larger role, we are grateful for your partnership in supporting our school community.
In the Classroom
Teachers communicate volunteer opportunities directly with families through their regular classroom communication. Opportunities may include:
- Assisting on field trips
- Reading with students
- Supporting classroom learning activities
- Preparing classroom materials
- Helping with special celebrations and events
Supporting School Programs & Events
There are many opportunities to serve beyond the classroom, including:
- Assisting with our weekly Wednesday Hot Lunch program
- Volunteering at special celebrations and school events
- Supporting athletic events
- Helping with fundraising initiatives
- Assisting with other school-wide activities
These volunteer opportunities are shared throughout the year in our weekly parent newsletter, The Chronicle.
Serving Through LSCE
Parents are also encouraged to become involved through the Leduc Society for Christian Education (LSCE). Our committees play an important role in supporting the mission and ongoing growth of Covenant Christian School.
Current committees include:
- Transportation
- Finance
- Public Relations
- Preschool
Serving on an LSCE committee is a meaningful way to use your gifts and contribute to our school community.
Thank You
We are grateful for every volunteer who chooses to invest in the life of Covenant Christian School. Thank you for partnering with us as we seek to develop flourishing learners who delight in God and are inspired to serve.
Together, we are building a community where every student is known, valued, and encouraged to grow in faith, learning, and belonging.
