    Principal’s Message

At devotions this week, Mrs. Veldkamp shared with our staff a little bit about Maundy Thursday, and it really had me thinking about this lead-up to Easter. In a little over a week, we land ourselves on  Maundy Thursday, the day when Jesus shared that last supper with his disciples. It’s a day filled with lessons, and one of the big ones comes straight from John 13:34.

As many of you have read on my Storyline wall in my office, “A new command I give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

On Maundy Thursday, we’re reminded of that powerful scene where Jesus, knowing his time was short, washes his friends’ feet. That act? It’s the embodiment of Jesus —putting others first and loving without conditions.

Now, as Easter draws near, we’re called to reflect on the depth of Jesus’ love, the kind that led him to give everything for us, even his life. That’s the love that fuels our faith, the love we celebrate during this season.

In our school community, let’s take a page from Maundy Thursday. Let’s show humility, serve one another, and love each other not just with words, but with real, tangible actions, just like Jesus did.

And let’s not forget, that our ability to love comes from the love we’ve been shown by God. As we think about Maundy Thursday and the sacrifice of Jesus, let’s be grateful for that crazy, never-gonna-understand-it love that’s been poured out on us.

So, as we journey toward Easter, let’s live out Jesus’ words: “Love one another as I have loved you.” That’s our mission, our guiding light, as we walk this road of faith together.

Sending you all love and blessings as we navigate this journey. Happy Spring Break everyone! And have a wonderful Easter focusing on Him.
