Principal’s Message
As you have read in the Chronicle, and through our CCS Athletics handbook, you realize that over the last few years, we have really been focusing on the mental health of our student-athletes, as well as how the actions of adults affect that health. Teams across Canada are losing coaches and players at an alarming rate due to a variety of reasons. The Kansas City Royals (MLB) recently partnered with the Blue Cross of Kansas City to create a documentary for parents and coaches to highlight the effects of over-involvement in sports and how it can create burnout and mental strain. While it is 45 minutes long, it is an incredible look into what being a young athlete looks like today, and how we as adults can be better. The “Not Good Enough” documentary comes at this from an American perspective, but the lesson remains the same. If you have children in youth sport, PLEASE find 45 minutes of adult time to give it a watch.

Grade 3 Bottle Drive
Do you have bags of bottles lying around after your Fall Break adventures? Gr. 3J and 3H are hosting an ongoing bottle drive at Leduc Bottle Depot. We will be advertising for collections after the major holidays in the school year (Christmas and Easter) but donations will be accepted for drop off at any time.
Just head to Leduc Bottle Depot and drop your bottles off at the back door of the depot and tell them to file it under account #2103
Matching Donation
As mentioned in previous Chronicles, we have been blessed with an opportunity to match $250,000 towards our school. Please share this information with your family and friends who may consider giving so we can make the most of this generous opportunity. If successful, we will be using these donations for things to ensure our students are able to have greater advantages in their learning. These include but are not limited to:
- Air conditioning in the portables
- musical instruments
- 3D Printers
- Robotics
- Sporting Equipment
- 1:1 Chromebooks
If after praying and thinking about it, you want to donate money to the school and take advantage of this matching offer, the easiest way to do this is by EFT or cheque to the LSCE. The LSCE email for EFT transfer is: [email protected]. Coming down to the school and writing a cheque is also always a possibility. Donations of $20 or more come with a charitable donation receipt.
I want to thank all of you for your prayerful consideration of this opportunity.
