    Principal’s Message:

I am so thrilled to be hosting the PCCE Christian Teachers Convention this Thursday and Friday. This event holds special significance for us, as it provides a unique opportunity for our school to come together with educators from across the region, sharing knowledge, learning, and growing together in our shared mission of cultivating excellence in Christian education.

We are genuinely excited about the prospect of welcoming our guests to our school. The convention promises a wealth of learning experiences, with insightful sessions and engaging discussions led by experienced educators and professionals. This event not only allows us to enhance our teaching practices but also strengthens our commitment to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for our students.

Beyond the sessions, we are looking forward to showcasing Covenant Christian School to our visitors. Our dedicated teachers, passionate students, and the supportive community that surrounds us are our greatest assets, and we are eager to share the vibrant and inspiring atmosphere of our school with all attendees.

We look forward to seeing all of our kiddos on Monday and sharing what we have learned!

    Basketball Coaches Needed!

We are starting to look ahead to our basketball season and are in need of a couple of coaches. Currently, we are looking for coaches/assistant coaches for the Junior Boys and the Senior Boys basketball teams. Committment would involve one practice after school a week, as well as one game after school a week. There would also be 1-2 tournaments to participate in. We are also in need of an Elementary Boys basketball coach. The commitment for this team would be practices and 2-4 games during lunch hour and a final tournament at the end of January.

If this is something you would be willing to help out with, we(staff AND students) would greatly appreciate it!

Please contact Mr. Drader if you, or someone you know, would be interested at [email protected].

    Parent/Teacher Conferences – November 1st & 2nd

We will be holding our Parent/Teacher Conferences this fall again. We will be trying something a little different this year for timing. Since November 1 is a PD day, we will have openings for appointments beginning a bit earlier in the day at 2:00 pm and continuing on into the evening, and then beginning at 3:30 pm on November 2nd and continuing into the evening appointments.

We will be using our online program School Appointments to book appointment times. The scheduling program, opened at 9:00 am today. We strongly encourage an appointment for each student in the school. If you would like to book with more than your student’s homeroom teacher (ie. junior high students have multiple teachers for different subjects), please contact that teacher directly to arrange a time to meet.

    Instructions for booking Parent/Teacher Conferences:

    1. Go to www.covenant.schoolappointments.com.
    2. You will need to create a new account as the system does not remember accounts from the previous year.  Register for an account by clicking the “REGISTER” menu tab and filling in the online form.  Choose a user id and password for yourself and then click the “Register Now” button.
    3. Add your children into the system by clicking the “Add a Student” button and click “Insert”.  Click “Insert New” button to add more children.
    4. Click the “date” icon beside each child’s name to schedule appointments.  Select the staff you wish to book appointments with and the “View Calendars” button.  Use the “Ctrl” or “Command” key to select multiple staff to view at the same time.  While you can view multiple calendars, you can only book one appointment per student.
    5. Click on available time slots to book your appointments and then click the “Book Appointments” button to save your bookings.  To book additional appointments for your other children, go to the Profile tab and select Manage Students from the drop-down, and select the next child.
    6. If you wish to print your appointments, go to Profile, View Appointments and then click Print Appointments.

    School Council

We would like to thank Shauna Balehowsky for her commitment as School Council Chair for the past two years. Shauna’s dedication and service to our school community are very much appreciated.

    Matching Donation

As mentioned in previous Chronicles, we have been blessed with an opportunity to match $250,000 towards our school. Please share this information with your family and friends who may consider giving so we can make the most of this generous opportunity. If successful, we will be using these donations for things to ensure our students are able to have greater advantages in their learning. These include but are not limited to:

    • Air conditioning in the portables
    • musical instruments
    • 3D Printers
    • Robotics
    • Sporting Equipment
    • 1:1 Chromebooks

If after praying and thinking about it, you want to donate money to the school and take advantage of this matching offer, the easiest way to do this is by EFT or cheque to the LSCE. The LSCE email for EFT transfer is: [email protected]. Coming down to the school and writing a cheque is also always a possibility. Donations of $20 or more come with a charitable donation receipt.

I want to thank all of you for your prayerful consideration of this opportunity.
