Principal’s Message:
As I sat listening to our keynote at the PCCE Convention last week, I was often inspired by Dr. Christina Edmundson’s words. She spoke three times, but she saved her most thought-provoking message until the end. As she spoke on Friday, she drew me back into my very own office often, where loudly, I have the words “Relentless Love” scripted across my wall.
Dr. Edmudson, with wisdom that cut through the noise of our divided world, proclaimed, “Love does not mean agree. If we only love those we agree with, it means we only love ourselves. What kind of love is that?!” These words, echoed the very essence of my office’s exploration of Relentless Love, have provided me – and now I hope you – with a profound opportunity for introspection – a chance to align our beliefs, actions, and hearts with the teachings of Jesus.
This provocation, deeply rooted in biblical teachings, challenges us to extend love and compassion beyond the boundaries of agreement. As Christians, we are called not just to love those who share our beliefs but to embrace the diversity of thought and opinion that exists within our faith community and the world at large.
As believers, we are challenged to be introspective, examining our hearts and actions in the light of these teachings of loving one another. Are we truly living out the message of this love as described by Him? Are we capable of extending love to those whose beliefs challenge our own? These questions demand soul-searching, encouraging us to confront our biases, prejudices, and judgments. It is through this introspection that we grow spiritually, cultivating a love that mirrors the divine love demonstrated by Jesus Christ himself.
Let us be courageous enough to confront our discomfort – regardless of the topic, seeking understanding and common ground while respecting the sanctity of differences. In doing so, we not only honor the teachings of the Bible but also contribute to a world where love transcends barriers, fostering unity, empathy, and compassion.
In this growlingly polarized world, let us remember that our faith is not a shield against differing opinions but a guiding light that leads us to love without limits. Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is enduring. Love is compassionate. We must love one another.

Parent/Teacher Conferences – November 1st & 2nd
We will be holding our Parent/Teacher Conferences this fall again. We will be trying something a little different this year for timing. Since November 1 is a PD day, we will have openings for appointments beginning a bit earlier in the day at 2:00 pm and continuing on into the evening, and then beginning at 3:30 pm on November 2nd and continuing into the evening appointments.
We will be using our online program School Appointments to book appointment times. We strongly encourage an appointment for each student in the school. If you would like to book with more than your student’s homeroom teacher (ie. junior high students have multiple teachers for different subjects), please contact that teacher directly to arrange a time to meet.
Instructions for booking Parent/Teacher Conferences:
- Go to www.covenant.schoolappointments.com.
- You will need to create a new account as the system does not remember accounts from the previous year. Register for an account by clicking the “REGISTER” menu tab and filling in the online form. Choose a user id and password for yourself and then click the “Register Now” button.
- Add your children into the system by clicking the “Add a Student” button and click “Insert”. Click “Insert New” button to add more children.
- Click the “date” icon beside each child’s name to schedule appointments. Select the staff you wish to book appointments with and the “View Calendars” button. Use the “Ctrl” or “Command” key to select multiple staff to view at the same time. While you can view multiple calendars, you can only book one appointment per student.
- Click on available time slots to book your appointments and then click the “Book Appointments” button to save your bookings. To book additional appointments for your other children, go to the Profile tab and select Manage Students from the drop-down, and select the next child.
- If you wish to print your appointments, go to Profile, View Appointments and then click Print Appointments.

- Air conditioning in the portables
- musical instruments
- 3D Printers
- Robotics
- Sporting Equipment
- 1:1 Chromebooks
If after praying and thinking about it, you want to donate money to the school and take advantage of this matching offer, the easiest way to do this is by EFT or cheque to the LSCE. The LSCE email for EFT transfer is: [email protected]. Coming down to the school and writing a cheque is also always a possibility. Donations of $20 or more come with a charitable donation receipt.
I want to thank all of you for your prayerful consideration of this opportunity.
