PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

As we return from Spring Break and quickly dive back into the rhythms of school life, it can be easy to let the days fly by without pause. We have 51 days until the end of school - assignments and exams, field trips, spring/summer activities - all ramp up, and the energy of spring seems to push everything forward at a rapid pace. But in the midst of this momentum, we are invited into a moment of stillness—a moment that asks us to slow down and truly feel.
Next week, we enter into the most sacred days of our calendar: the remembrance of Good Friday and the celebration of Easter Sunday. At Covenant, we are intentional about making space in our classrooms and in our hearts for the weight and wonder of these days.
In each classroom, students are engaging with the story of Jesus’ journey to the cross. They are learning not just about the historical events, but about the deep significance of Christ’s sacrifice—what it meant then, and what it means for us now. Teachers are guiding students through age-appropriate reflections on love, suffering, grace, and redemption. These are not just lessons; they are invitations to deepen our faith and to recognize the enormity of what Christ did for us.
Good Friday is not meant to be rushed through. It is a day of sorrow, of darkness, of reflection—a day when we remember the price Jesus paid so that we could live in the light of His resurrection. Before we run toward the joy of Easter morning, we must first pause at the foot of the cross. That Friday reminds us of the brokenness of the world, the depth of our need, and the immeasurable love of our Savior.
So let us slow down. Let us help our children and ourselves sit in the silence of that Friday moment. Let us be present with the story, with the sacrifice, and with the Savior.
May our hearts be softened and prepared—not just for the celebration of Easter, but for the full truth of the Gospel.
