Hope Notes 2

Each week in The Chronicle, a staff member will share their Deep Hope- a personal vision of how they hope to see God’s kingdom reflected in life and learning at Covenant. Through these reflections, we aim to encourage our students and families to see God’s goodness and purposes throughout our school community.

PARENT INFORMATION

As we begin a new school year, please take a moment to review our Parent & Student Handbook, which has been designed to serve as a guide for our shared life together as a school community.

Celebration

At CCS, we gather each week for Celebration, our school-wide assembly. To ensure our Kindergarten students can join us regularly, we alternate the day each month between Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Celebration begins at 8:35 a.m.

For the month of September, Celebration will take place on Thursdays. Parents are warmly invited to join us as we worship, learn, and celebrate together as a school community.

Counselor's Corner

This week, I’ve been reflecting on the importance of trust. As both a teacher and counsellor, I know that trust is the foundation of meaningful relationships. Without it, true growth and connection are hard to build.

As I prepare to share with our school community at Celebration, I’ve been thinking about my grandson, Luuk. He recently learned how to ride his bike, and that milestone required a lot of trust. His dad would hold the bike steady as Luuk got on and started pedaling. Again and again, Luuk would glance back, looking for proof that his dad was still holding on. Sometimes he’d call out, “Dad, don’t let go!” or “Are you there?”

That picture of trust reminds me of our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Just as Luuk needed reassurance from his dad, we often look for signs that God is with us. Whether we call out in prayer or search for evidence in His Word, we find the courage to try new and difficult things. Unlike Luuk’s dad, who eventually had to let go, God never does.

Scripture reminds us: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Trusting God means relying on His presence even when we don’t fully understand His ways. It is in this trust that we find the strength to step into the new, the unknown, and the beautiful places He has prepared for us.

Please note that the bus dismissal bell rings each day at 3:20 p.m. At this time, Mrs. Haugan and Mrs. Hennink will pause vehicle traffic to allow the buses to exit safely. Once the buses have left, regular pick-up traffic may continue.

Safe Arrival

To enhance our existing absence-checking procedure, we are introducing a new, more efficient student absence reporting system called SafeArrival.  This new system will reduce the time it takes to verify student attendance, make it easy for you to report your child’s absence and easy for staff to respond to unexplained student absences. Here is the link for more information.
